The Salanga Community Market is a prime example of expert building design, as it successfully converted a gas-line constraint into a cohesive, climate-responsive layout. The project divides into two market wings on a 33-shatak site in Sirajganj. These wings are joined by a public courtyard. This creates a balanced plan that allows for natural ventilation, community interaction, and everyday use. As an architectural firm in bangladesh, our approach to Building Design turns site limits into opportunities without losing user comfort.

The side-road wing is a one-story building that is easy to get to and cheap to build. Its small size and use of local materials keep costs down while still satisfying the needs of traders. The wing that faces the highway, on the other hand, rises to two stories to meet increasing commercial demand. Even though it’s tall, it yet feels human-sized because of the strong visual and tactile connections to the courtyard, which make both wings feel like one.

The courtyard is the most important part of the design; it acts as the lungs of the complex. It lets cool breezes circulate through shaded, open areas and pulls hot air up, which helps with cross-ventilation. This passive cooling system makes Bangladesh’s hot environment more comfortable by reducing the need for mechanical equipment. Incorporating commercial space design with public life, the space also holds community activities.

The shapes and perforations in the roof are designed to move heat away from areas that are being used. Covered walkways protect consumers and vendors from the sun and rain while yet letting air flow and keeping the storefronts visible. The basic idea of drainage is to collect, slow down, and direct water away from routes. This keeps them safe and lasts all year.

Materials are sourced locally and made to last. Masonry, metal roofing, and simple structural systems make it easier to keep up with and fix things. Key features, such as thicker edges at corners and deeper overhangs on south-facing fronts, make the product more durable where it gets the most use.

The building designed with a dual-wing arrangement makes phased construction possible. Each block may work on its own, which makes it possible to build up in stages that fit with funding cycles. Service access is sent to the edge, which keeps foot traffic moving smoothly through the center.
